Not as ignorant as the people who think I am from Pike Central. Not being investigated doesn't mean it didn't happen. I see that you stated that Deramus came to live with his mother. A previous poster stated he came there from Texas with his father due to his father's job. Which one is the truth? Sounds like you guys need to get your story straight. Rumors were always flying about jobs and housing. People losing their jobs whenever their child graduated. Bailey Boys coming from West Virginia along with the Varneys(some played at different schools at the same time), Garvins as well as others. Regardless of what percentage of the championship teams were homegrown or transfers, Pikeville always had a notorious reputation for recruiting whether it could be proven or not or whether they even tried to prove it. I do not believe Pikeville would have won any state titles without Deramus or Bailey. Jetset, you can sit in your glass house up on Snob Nob in Pikeville and look down on me as being ignorant, but the last thing I worry about is the opinion of a Dip@#$% from Pikeville.

Go look at the stats on the link I posted to KHSAA, Hackney was the featured back is 87 and 88. Deramus was a hard runner, and fast, but Hackney was "the man" both years. 34 carries in the 88 game alone vs Deramus's 15. Pikeville would have been just fine without Deramus. He was a piece of the puzzle. The 89 team relied MUCH more on Bailey, I will admit. That team didn't really have a workhorse RB other than him. And to use your own words, those were RUMORS that were always flying around. It was a different rumor every week, and ALMOST always just from jealousy. People couldn't beat Pikeville, so they just tried to drag them through the mud, like you are.
