Best football program without a state title?

Sad thing about JCHS is that they probably had more talent at that school year in and year out than any school in the Mountains. In the late 70's I think 1978 JCHS had a 10-1 season and produced 2 all-state players. During the 80's they were loaded with talent but for some reason the coachs just couldn't put a great team on the field. For the most part the coachs were just bad, they were teaching football of the 1940's era, even so they would show Flashs like in 1985 when JCHS beat a Paintsville team led by Joey Couch, a Tiger team that played in the Class A state Championship. I have told the Story before about a 11 second flat 100 meter guy who also High Jumped 6 feet 8 inchs, this guy was 6' feet 2" inchs tall 220 pounds and the JC Coachs played this guy at OFF Tackle. This guy was a RB back or receiver at any other school in the WORLD. What Matney has done since he has been at JCHS he has done when JC has not been loaded with bodies. He has some class coming up in the next few years are Loaded.
