I didn't make any defenses, only stated facts.

The running backs didn't beat Perry Central tonight, Rock's QB and offensive line did.
There were no big runs to be made because Perry stacked the box and kept the running backs in front of them. If Rowe was in it wouldn't have made a big difference in my opinion. Maybe even the same score.
On EVERY long drive by Rock there was one or two plays where Rock's QB completed passes on 3rd and long or 4th and long.
The stats don't tell the story of this game.
You had to be there to watch it.

While I agree that visual is the best to evaluate, stats are unbiased results of a game. The old adage is that "numbers don't lie", it is true. I can watch a game and think a player did okay, but then I look at the stat-sheet and see he has only had 30 yards, etc....

I was blown away when I looked at McPhetridge's numbers against Huff's. You are right, Corey was asked to make very few plays, but when he was asked to, he did. The diving/extension catch made by Eli Haddix on 4th down or 3rd and very long was a heart-breaker for Perry.

The Huff-Pray connection was in full effect, I would bet that at least half of Kyle's completions were to Pray.
