I can see why his management told him to take it off...uniformity and all that, I understand it..

But jeez, it's just an American flag pin, and he had been wearing it for quite a while. Just let him keep it on...no need to be firing people over stuff like that, especially in the state our county is in and the fact that he had worked there for more than a year. You already know he's a good employee, so just work with him on the situation and compromise.
