Owen's non-district opponents certainly held their own last night in the first round. Western Hills loses by only 6 at Russell. Lloyd pulls the upset in 2A (against OC's district runner-up). Bourbon rolls in 3A, and has a good chance to advance deep into the 3A playoffs. Ludlow thumped Eminence in Class A. Bellevue won big in Class A as well. Now, the district part of their schedule doesnt look so impressive, but nothing they can do about their geography and who the KHSAA pairs them up with in both district and region.

And as far as Holy Cross matchup goes....its certainly a different level than they've played to this point, it'll take a monumental effort to advance past that one. But a loss next Friday doesnt change the fact that this is a really good football team.
