Somerset went on to lose to Ft Knox 19-14. The next year Somerset went undefeated in the regular season but go upset in the Regionals I believe. I don't remember enough about them but I would say you were right. That was the pinnacle of both programs runs. The two had numerous finals appearances in that era. Somerset was in the finals in '78, '81 and '83 but their best team was probably in '82 when they went 10-1. Corbin had titles in '76, '80 and '82 and a finals showing in '77.

I recall the local legend of R.C. Thomas' Story and what happened there, but i once read that he may have been the best defensive player to ever play for Corbin to.
