Dierrius Dumphord rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown, and quarterback Ben Lawler added 61 yards and two scores on the ground as Scott County rolled at Eastern 52-14 Friday night in the Class 6A quarterfinals.
The Cardinals rushed for five touchdowns in all and 242 yards. They threw for just 76. Next up for Scott County is Boone County, a 21-0 winner Friday over Lafayette.
The Cardinals (12-0) held Eastern to 59 yards rushing. Trey Franklin returned a blocked punt 18 yards in the first quarter to make it 14-0, and J.T. True picked up a fumble in the second and took it back 68 yards for a score, making it 28-7.
Scott County also picked off four of Tanner Evans' passes.
