Why are championship games not televised?
#8
The OHSAA (Ohio) is finding that the live telecasts of the state championships is reducing attendance. I am not sure that the TV rights are making up for the reduced ticket sales. It is not like the games are shown on free tv either, I know in the Cincinnati area the games are shown on cable and that only those with the digital cable package get them. At my home in suburban Cincinnati the OHSAA finals are on Time Warner cable channel 99, which usually is used for promos only.

I remember several years ago that KET showed the state championships on a delayed basis. Delayed, yes, but at least it was better than no showing at all.
