Why are championship games not televised?

Something to eat? You can't go 3.5 hours without a meal? Seriously? Eat when you get there at the tailgate parties. Back a pic a nic basket and join the other Highlands fans in the parking lot getting ready for the game.

I'll give you the bathroom break of 10 minutes or so, but come on folks. I have to agree with adopted purple. Seems like people like finding something to complain about. The trip is a once a blooming year occurrence. Trust me the CovCath fans would love to have the inconvenience of a 3.5 hour to watch their team play in the championship game.

If that doesn't change you mind, look at it this way: we had no long playoff trips to Johnson Central or Harlan County. Our only road trip during the playoffs was to Lex Central. Make an event out of it; get a group of Highlands fans and caravan down together; tailgate before the game; and go in and cheer the Birds onto number 21. I'm just happy and appreciative that we got the 3:00 pm Central time Saturday game. Most folks don't have to miss work; you can leave the house at a decent hour Saturday morning; and you can be home at a decent hour Saturday night. It could have been much, much worse.

Perhaps some day EKU will submit a proposal that the KHSAA can seriously consider. Until then, with UL unable to guarantee the use of their field both Friday and Saturday due to Big East rules, it's driving to WKU once a year. I'll take it in a fat man's heart beat.
