I think the hatred between Liberals and Conservatives is becoming a hindrance to our country, and has been for the past 4-5 years. We need to get past that petty horse shit and be more open to other's ideas.

Of course, it will take a major disaster of some sort to make that happen though. Always does.

I agree with you in principle. I would qualify that with the following; I believe people for the most part believe what they want to believe. For instance, if Senate Leader Harry Reid or or House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, stands before the American public and declares the republicans are holding America hostage by not allowing critical legislation to pass through the congress, a lot of folks are going to accept that for the truth just because they belong to the democatic party.

The real truth is democrats want legislation that only they support. They table, or simply won't allow legislatioin coming up from the House to be brought up on the floor of the Senate. We had some great bills come up such as cut cap and balance, that just were not brought up on the floor of the Senate and died for lack of any action. The one and only reason for not even allowing a debate on the bill was because the dems didn't like it so they killed it. Another example, the United States has been operating without a budget now for nearly 1000 days. In both of these cases, the dems have blamed the republicans for this outrageous deriliction of duty. They had a total lock on government before the elections of 2010 when they lost their so called, Super Majority. The Harry Reid led Senate and the Nancy Pelosi led House were dominated by the dems and they could push anything through they darn well pleased. We got ObamaCare and the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, yet, we languish in financial limbo without a budget. But, according to the dems, the republicans are the ones who are hurting the public by not doing their jobs. What a joke.

Obama has used this ruse to malign their republican counterparts with merciless verbal assaults day after day. The democrats weren't sent to Washington to get rid of their colleagues across the aisle, they were sent there to work WITH them. The anti conservative drum beat is as incessant as it is brutal. Why would the dems hate the republicans so much? I can tell you what I believe is the problem. By in large, the politicians that are professing Christians, or align themselves with the conservative right are despised by the liberal left. People like Sarah Palin, George Bush, Michelle Bachmann, Allan West, Rick Perry and eveybody associated with the Tea Party Caucus, (as far as I can determine there are no democratic Tea Party members) are lampooned with regularity, made to look stupid or simple minded at absolutely every opportunity, or vilified by airing an ads showing a republican pushing grandma off a cliff. It's a propaganda campaign, pure and simple.

Folks, we are watching the US Congress self destruct, taking all Americans down with them. There is a very simple solution to the madness, vote these activist ideologues out. It will only take a couple elections to send the message. At least we can get them to pull their horns in a little bit, right now they are lying to themselves calling the sweeping elections of 2010 a fluke. 2012 will effectively be the day reality finally hits home for these extremists. By the way, is anybody else as sick as I am of the dems calling good men that merely adhere to the values that American is built on "Right Wing Extremists?"

I would challenge anybody who bothers to listen to the news these days to actually ask themselves to identify who is slamming who, the vast majority of the time. In fact, if one listens to the news, there is only one alternative, if you don't want to hear the constant, democratically spewn drone of republican bashing blather, and of course, that would be FOX NEWS. As I have mentioned in the past, I don't accept an awful lot of what I hear on FOX, but, one will have a reasonable opportunity to hear the truth. If Obama's lips are moving he's republican bashing. It has been a long time since I have heard any democrat speak on ANY subject without hearing them trash republicans in some form or fashion. I guarantee, the dems are guilty of it by a ratio of more than 10 to 1.

So, although I agree the hatred has to stop, and I am by no means saying that the republicans are innocent of any wrong doing, no, what I am saying is the offender-in-chief and his minions are usually the ones doing the hate speech. Thereby propagating their own poisonous perspective. Really, the scarry part is wondering if the run-away hate train can even be slowed down, much less stopped. I mean, how could anyone justify Obama's threat to shut down the government even though the republicans are certainly willing to give Obama his extentions on unemployment and payroll taxes in exchange for the Canadian Pipeline? Are we that far gone that we can't recognize this kind of threat is more the definition of holding someone hostage than the congress going through it's two century old process of hammering out good legislation?
