A counselor at a rehab facility told me that one of the reasons the drinking age is set at 21 is because the brain of an 18 year old is still developing and alchohol affects that development. This is why alchoholics who begin during their teen years still have the mentality of a teenager when they are much older. In a way it stunts your brain growth. At least that is how I understand it. Besides, many 18 year old kids are still in High School when they turn that age. They would be buying it for all of their friends, etc... Not sure that is a good mix.
