I'm torn on the issue.

I agree with the couple who is BEST fit to raise the child should, however you can't compare that to the psychological aspect of having a Mother-Father. Two gay men or two gay women cannot give the same care as a man and a woman. Please note I said "the same care" don't take that out of context and assume it's better or worse. A child, be it girl or boy, in my opinion, will need a mother and father. The girl will need a mother to bitch about her boyfriend, and a boy will need a father to teach him how to throw a fast ball. I'm pretty sure everyone can visualize where I'm going with this, however I believe this doesn't compensate for the straight couple to be bad parents.

That doesn't happen much in this day of 50% divorce rate.
