My brother turned 18 as a junior in high school. Just asking for trouble, IMO if a junior in high school could legally purchase something as mentally/physically alerting as alcoholic beverages. I am of the opinion it would cause more harm than good.

Should we stop the 18 year olds from voting, or going to war, if they are so irresponsible? An 18 year is considered, by law, an adult, with all other rights and privileges of an adult. This should be no different. Could it be that you don't drink, is why you are so quick to deny other adults their rights?
