I have interviewed, as subtlely as possible, quite a number of folks by engaging them in casual coversation with regard to their political views. All the dems I have spoken with, believe part of life are the guarantees provided by the democrat party to people who work with their hands for a living. They believe republicans are rich elitists trying to 'hog-up' as much money as they can. At one time in the distant past, I suppose the democrats did sort of care about the interests of American labor. However, these days dems play organized and unorganized labor for fools, to get their votes.

Somehow, it seems to have escaped the everyday voting man's notice, that the dems voting base is a strange montage of various special interest groups. In a way, it's almost like union organizing. Small groups of people have learned they can unite themselves in a wierd coalition to gain the political power they need to effect change that benefits only them. The list of speicial interest entities and minority groups is as diverse as it is wierd. They are the party which represents the following; (I'm sure I'll leave some out, but the point is all these groups are getting their votes bought by the dems)

-gays and lesbian agenda and their activists
-ethnic minorities
-animal rights activists
-green agenda and their activists
-evolutionists
-social justice idealism and those activists
-modern liberalists
-modern progressives
-wide open immigration standards
-modern appeasement advocates
-the liberal academia
-secular humanists
-anti-christian movement
-pro choice legislation
-feminist movement
-system of primary education/teachers


And who is it that all these groups hate? Conservative republicans, because they more closely espouse the principles and traditional values of the America we know to have existed for our first 250 years. And they represent the only credible obstacle to them getting their petty, self absorbed interests answered. Just as Israel will one day, if not today, lay claim to the prophesy which states they will be surrounded by the armies of their enemies, those who would defend traditional America are attacked by those of the list above from all sides. Somebody please explain this to me; how does organized labor possibly fit among those listed above? Talk about your strange bedfellows! The quintessential square peg in the round hole. I don't get it. On the one hand dems, and Obama in particular, talk about the hard workers in this land. While on the other, every piece of legislation in the last 4 years was for folks that are either poor or don't work at all. Am I the only one seeing the irony in the democratic platform? The party of work, no wait, not work. :igiveup:

Pretty good list but you left out some major constituencies like the socialists, fascists, and the member of the Communist Party USA. Of course, all except the most ardent believers of those groups pose as "progressives" in this country because of the well deserved stigma attached to political philosophies that have been directly responsible for the misery, suffering, and deaths of untold millions of human beings.
