Hoot Gibson Wrote:Obama has talked about his "sons" on multiple occasions. He has (possibly) confused his grandfather, who fought in WWII, with his father who did not. He has spoken of campaigning in 57 states. These kind of gaffes are things that a person enjoying an altered state of consciousness might be expected to say, not a sober American president with the nuclear football within his grasp.
I am not convinced that Obama did not utter the words "my Muslim faith" out of habit, and he seems to observe more Islamic holidays in a more visible manner than he does Christian holidays.
Even if the Snopes conclusions are correct, it is also true that George Stephanopolos thought he was saving Obama from himself. It is not the kind of courtesy that he or any other member of the mainstream media would extend to a Republican president. The incident was as much a commentary on the liberal media as it was on Obama's alleged "faith."
I really believe that Obama just uses religion as a prop and lets his audience determine whether he is more Muslim or Christian on a given day. Much like Bill Clinton proudly displayed his Bible minutes after his Sunday morning meetings with Monica.
I'm not either. And as far as Snopes is concerned, they seem very willing to err on the side of Mr Obama. As I mentioned he/she has made some pretty friendly stretches in Mr Obama's favor, enroute to an ever predictably innocuous appraisal of something that may seem suspicous, he has either said or done. They have to be very careful not to appear biased, to maintain the reptutation they've earned for being non-partisan and unbiased. I mean, was it not in his own words that he and his wife have been certified as "hard pressed to find anyone more unbiased"? And though worded very carefully, the outcome always shines a favorable light on Mr Obama's actions and intentions. The truth is nobody truly indoctrinated in the ideals advocated by the doctrines of social justice, can lay claim to a love of traditional America. The concept of 'redistribution of wealth' alone precludes that possibility.
