Likewise... when Pikeville is good then it is not only good for football in EKY, it is good the whole state. Besides the talent pool being a little diluted, Pikeville has also been a victim of coaching turnover which I think a lot of people understate. Anytime you change a coach you also change up their philosophy at the feeder level. Pikeville, with a single feeder school, is even more vulnerable. I am a big Coach Mac fan and think he has the train on the tracks.

If Pikeville beats Belfry I will be pissed, I won't lie. Obviously I enjoy Belfry beating Pikeville for the obvious reasons, even moreso is the fact I can talk trash to my boy jetpilot about it With that said, once the initial anger is gone I think I would in some way be happy it happened in the long run.

I still remember being a young kid and going to a Belfry/Pikeville game and how electric the atmosphere was for all those years. I remember how it was the talk of the mountains and regarded state wide as one of those rivalries that you wanted to know the score of even if your team had no tie to the game. I remember the anticipation of Pike County Bowl night and how even if Belfry wasn't playing until the last game you had to be there early to watch Pikeville and see what they had that year. I want the current generations to know those feelings.
