Pikeville was able to get pressure on Harlan's QB. Saragas is a vetran QB that moves outside the pocket really well. I don't think he was able to stay in the pocket all night. Last season he passed at a rate of about 63%. He was 6 for 13 against the Panther's defense which is below his average. I think that was due to the pressure he had on him. Most QB's they see won't move outside the pocket that well.

There is no use trying lol. sportsguru4u has an obvious axe to grind with Pikeville and is loving the rebuilding process that comes along fairly frequently in Class A football. He will probably be the one that calls for an upset of Pikeville in all district games, and be one of the first to tell us all how the program is in shambles after each loss. Hopefully more people will just start to ignore his attempt to stir the pot.

As for you, I really enjoy reading your posts and they are very insightful from another point of view. Saragas has incredible pocket presence and footwork. The pressure was there at times and he simply eluded it (He stayed very composed and it didn't even appear that he was being pressured) to allow enough time for the coverage, which on longer pass plays was pretty solid, to break down and that one receiver would break off his route and Saragas would find him. It kept drives alive for Harlan and was absolutely deflating to Pikeville. On the other side of the ball, Harlan's secondary was outstanding. They were often step for step with the Pikeville Wide Outs and did not let Pikeville create many easy windows to hit. And, this is not meant as an excuse or anything like that, the Harlan DB's were very good at getting away with little things. They would grab a shouler or jersey out of a break and it would give them time to recover, but most were not so blatant it was an obvious foul. They did get caught once for that, and once for a pass interference. But it was a definite net gain for the Green Dragons.

All in all, you could tell how experienced Harlan was and they were just solid in all aspects when it counted. I certainly would love to see Harlan again, this time at Pikeville, but that requires a lot of work from both teams! Good Luck to Harlan the rest of the way!
