I think one of the reasons Herron didn't pull the starters sooner is to get to a 45 point lead as soon as possible. This triggers the continuous clock and gets the game over sooner. The fewer plays the teams run to finish out the game, the lesser the risk of a kid getting hurt.

The City-County games have been great the past two years. Middlesboro and Bell County have been very good hosts. The two stadiums are only a few miles apart but couldn't be more different. Lee Majors Field is right in the middle of town, with the Coke plant at one end and 15th Street at the other. Sitting in the visitors' stands at Log Mountain, all you can see in any direction is the football field, the school building and TREES! You can't even see the road. It's a great venue too. This is one Williamsburg fan who hopes we get invited back next year.

A couple of observations about the Pineville players (who all made a great effort, btw). First off, I hope the Pineville kid who left on the stretcher is OK. Second, Tanner Mike is as much a stud as people say. I don't remember the last time I saw a player at an level give as much. He left EVERYTHING he had on the field... much love and admiration!
