Lot of writers vote based on past history early in the season, doesn't matter how good a team is this year. Marquee name teams always get a lot of writer votes early. In a few weeks it'll be all about the records and an undefeated 1A school that could be 10-0 at the end of the season may be #1 when they would have NO SHOT at winning the title over Hazard, Mayfield or Beechwood.
