Republicans never buy votes...what the heck? The military industrial complex doesn't come to mind does it. Funny thing is Bush spent us out of a surplus but the Republicans were fine, Obama does it, and the world is ending... so sad but true.

Under George W on Nov 15, 2007 America's gnp was 14.4 trillion and our national debt was 9 trillion. Which means we could demonstrate that our nation at that time, had a little over 5 trillion dollars worth of assets and treasure more than we owed in the form of our national debt, got it? Conversely, your boy Obama's numbers on Nov 15, 2011 went like this, the national debt was 14.7 trillion and we owed 15.3 trillion. Which means that for the first time in the history of this great land we found ourselves owing more than we were worth. Let me simplify that again for you. Under George W. we were worth 5 trillion more than we owed and under Obama we owe over a trillion more than wer're worth. And of course, that upside down financial picture will only get worse under Obama's leadership and policy debacles. 6.4 trillion worse, actually under a second Obama term.

Put another way, even a person sitting on top of a career in education, renewable energy investments and patents, and the owner of two companies couldn't get a loan from the bank if he owed more than he was worth.

Bush spent us out of a surplus? Here's a list of the loans Billy Boy made to make himself look like we had a surplus; how Clinton managed to claim a surplus was that while the general operating budgets ran deficits, Clinton borrowed from numerous off budget funds, to make the on budget fund, a surplus. Clinton ran a budget deficit every year of his 8 year presidency.

($246.5B borrowed - $230B claimed surplus = $16.5B actual deficit).

And no, republicans don't buy votes and your military industrial complex argument is a moot topic, not to mention the fact it's so passe it's moldy, in the face of redistribution of wealth, socialism and social justice.
