I left feeling good about being a pirate! The one thing I wanted to see was how would these boys respond to being down against a good team again. Against Henry clay they gave up when things got tough, but against Ashland these boys rose to the challenge. I saw growth and that was the important thing. Ashland is a good team also, so there's no shame in losing to a good team. I also liked the fact that we finally split messer out and used him as a wr some. I like that we threw some quick pop passes Taylor and got our athletes the ball in open space. This team is very different than other belfry teams. They are loaded with athletes that you can throw those quick hitters. They are like an Italian sports car, but they are driving that sports car like a dump truck in my opinion. We have some work to do in the secondary, but I think we will be fine. I think coach Haywood has seen that fine sports car he has and I can hear the engine purring. We are going to ground and pound no doubt because no one else does it better, but he is slowly adding a wrinkle here and there and come playoff time we will be hitting on all cylinders. So keep thinking we are no good in pond creek because soon enough you all will get to see for yourselves. So come on down and we will be your huckleberry! WE ARE BELFRY
