The only possible justification for this would be a belief that a team that lost HAS to drop no matter what. Because my question would be whether you think Franklin County would do better than 24-0 against Bowling Green? I guess they'd score some because that's their thing, but they don't have a prayer of stopping them.

I see the 24-0 loss by Central as a reason to no longer consider them a threat to catch John Hardin at #2, but not to drop them behind Franklin County. Especially considering that Franklin County needed a touchdown return as time expired to beat the #9 team during this same week. Compare that to the beating Central laid on the #10 team just three weeks ago and it looks especially bad. Top to bottom, Central has a far better resume than Franklin County:

-Central's ranked wins - 1A #1 Mayfield (+14), 2A #5 Ft. Campbell (+45), 5A #10 Greenwood (+36), 6A #6 Ballard (+17)
-Franklin County's ranked wins - 1A #2 Frankfort (+32), 5A #9 Anderson County (+4)

The only knock against Warren Central is a loss to Bowling Green who would likewise drop Franklin County like a sack of potatoes.

If you get shutout and beat by 24 your going to drop.
I showed great confidence and respect toward Warren Central by only dropping them one spot. Franklin County has outscored everybody in the state this year, bad competetion or not.
Warren Central may very well be better but you'll never know. The two wont ever see the field together.
IMO, 5A has become harder and harder to rank. Losses that werent suppose to happen, 3 teams all beating one another (Cooper, Conner, South Oldham) and these rankings are staying the course as far as level of play.
We dont not rank on wins and losses, if we did it would look like the mountain polls and other polls around the state that have teams that are clearly better ranked behind other teams that have fallen just because theyve lost to a premier program. If Trinity were to lose to an out of state national power would they fall behind to St.X? No.

I think Franklin County deserved to move up. If they fall, they will get placed where they should be.
