1. Mayfield-Clear cut number 1.
2. Frankfort-Clear cut number 2.

3. Beechwood, 4. Hazard 5. Fairview could all interchange, and still not be wrong. In actuallity a healthy Beechwood is probably better than Frankfort, but can they get healthy and STAY healthy? That is still to be determined. I am still not completely sold on Williamsburg though. Since this realignment has been put into place, we see the same from that district year in and year out. Williamsburg/Campbellsville always sit atop and have solid-great regular seasons, but come round 2 or 3, they end up falling to a top 5 team in a lopsided loss, So I'd have to put Raceland ahead of Williamsburg by a nose, simply because they have been more competitive in round 3 games historically.

8,9,10...I think are in a similar situation but for different reasons. I don't think any of these teams can knock off 1-7, but you could just about have a blind draw and it would all be about the same.

As I see it, there's the top dogs in Mayfield and Frankfort. Perenial powers of Beechwood and Hazard who on any given day can knock off Mayfield or Frankfort. Then you have Fairview, Raceland, Williamsburg who have the ability to "shock the state" and WIN or atleast make some noise and upset some people. At this point, I have absolutely no clue what to think about the playoffs other than Raceland and Fairview will more than likely rematch for their the Region in another dog fight(of which I think the winner will be different), we will finally see the Mayfield/Frankfort/Beechwood questions be answered. This is one of the most competitive 1A classes I can recall in recent years, atleast within the top 10, but this year has also brought a lot of question marks, some we know how good they are, and others are good, we are just unsure of how good. We will get some answers soon though, and as high school football fans, are in for a real treat come rounds 3, 4, and 5. I know I can't wait.
