God I pray that the Governement gives me my Retirement money to manage! My return annually (my guess is yours too if you own a 401K) is 18-25 times better than than what the government will EVER give back to both of us! I have a HSA that carries over annually. I can already see that I will be perfectly fine come retirement age in covering both my retirement and health expenses!

So, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - take me OUT of Medicare and SS! As a matter of fact, you can keep 100% of what I have already contributed, and I will still be way better off on my own than Big Brother screwing up my long term investment.

Ville, you keep your little pension from the governments coffers, I'll be the one drinking Tahiti's on the ocean front, you can come visit anytime you want - I guess if it's around the first of the month that is nicker:

I honesty am dumbfounded, completely DUMBFOUNDED at how ignorant the American public is on this subject and the MONEY they are leaving on the table to trust in a retirement program from the government! Let those of the uninformed persuasion dump their money into a government fund and get their -50% return versus the private market! I'd LOVE to have mine to manage! Here little sheep, sheep!!!

But Dusty, didn't you know the government, and democrats in particular if you listen to RV's arguments, will always tell you what you are supposed to think about everything from your understanding of finance to morality? That notion is the lynchpin of what has become the expanded battleground between the conservatives and liberals of our time. Of course the argument has become more complex with the each side claiming ownership of certain convictions and ideas. BTW, great post.
