The Beechwood school system shouldn't have any say in the punishment of these players. If drinking didn't occur on school grounds or at a school function how can the school system hold these kids accountable. To my knowledge none of the kids were arrested, so legally how can a school system step in and punish these kids. I feel like this is an issue which needs to be dealt with by the parents not the school. If these kids were on school grounds, then by all means the school should hold these kids accountable. If my child is doing something wrong outside of school it is my responsibility to discipline my child and hold him or her accountable for their actions. I just feel like the school system is over stepping their boundries with this issue. I hope this issue gets resolved and these kids will be able to compete next week.
