CIA Director David Petraeus Resigns, Cites Extramarital Affair

Nor do I, if this was only about an affair that Petraeus's FBI background check almost surely uncovered. The timing suggests that his resignation is strongly linked to Obama's well orchestrated Benghazi cover-up. This is either an attempt by the Obama administration to avoid having Petraeus testify under oath before the Senate and House Intelligence Committees or an attempt to undermine his credibility before he testifies.

Like all cover-up attempts, this one is raising more questions than it is answering. It will be very interesting to see whether Petraeus mans up or lawyers up. My guess is that he will do the honorable thing and tell what he knows about the decision to let people in Benghazi die without the benefit of an Obama authorized rescue attempt.

However, who knows what other dirt Obama has dug up on Petraeus to pressure him into silence? We may find out in a few days.
