"IF" SHS gets 3 stops on 3rd down, or the critical stop on fourth down late in the ball game then the game has a different outcome. NCC didn't overpower anyone, they were methodical and ate clock. You play this game 10 times and the two teams split, and thats the truth. How about NCC going over the top with 1:44 left to go in the ball game with the lead on second down? Was a 20-12 lead not big enough for the NCC ego? We can all play the "what if" game... Here's to Caldwell Co. winning one for public schools, although I don't think it happens.
Not ridiculous at all, simple facts. I realize you don't play with "ifs". The only reason this game was close was because of turnovers. I think that proves my point ten fold about how much better NCC was. The fact that a team can make runs like your saying simply shows how weak your competition is. Don't talk to me about district lines. There are 5 catholic schools within 20 miles up here, and you can't cross district lines here either. Not to mention, NCC has 40 kids, 10th through 12th on their roster. Same as the other schools they play in 2A. Don't act like they have such an advantage. Losing at Football boils down to two simple things, either you have good coaches and your players aren't good, or you have good players and your coaches aren't good. I realize kids say things on the field in the heat of battle, that's not what I'm talking about. Your trying to justify the things in pregame, and good teams don't do those things, sorry.
