I just took another look at the maps of districts on KHSAA site for football alignments and the number assigned to each district seems almost arbitrary. In staying with 4A there is almost no reasoning behind the district numbers ( which is what determines playoff pairings). In the East the districts aren't number East to West or by any logic I can see. Heck District 3 which is in the West is further East than Distrcit 4. Now I am really confused as to why the pairings are the way they are.
