Interest in Ky High football is horrible
#33
It would appear to me that we need to hold the State Championships in a predetermined regional site for each class. I felt sorry to see all of those Belfry Fans having to drive 300 miles to Bowling Green, Ky. If the argument/discussion is how to increase attendance to state championship games, then it only makes sense to hold these games closer to each participating teams locale. If the 3A State Championship had been held at Morehead State, the enitre city of Belfry and the most of Pike, Johnson, and Floyd Counties would have been there. Why does our football state championships have to be played at the same location for all 12 teams involved? Why not spread it out across this sate? And I wouldnt be against clasifying all teams according to their geographic area. Simply divide the state into 6 areas and let them vie for a state championship. I understand this does take away from who can beat Trinity, but then again in our state who can? I personally would love to have seen a Harlan Co. vs. Belfry Match up, or a Bell Co. vs. Belfry Matchup...Being from southeast Ky. and a die-hard football fan, I hate to admit this, but I could care less about Mayfield, even though tradtionally, they are hard to beat.
