This is a fight that Republicans cannot win. Obama clearly has no interest in seeing the country return to prosperity but he was reelected and has nearly unanimous support from the national media. The average American is too poorly educated and/or too apathetic to appreciate the desperate situation that the mushrooming national debt has placed this country. The economy is going to crash, regardless of what is done because four years of Obama and his reelection have us locked on a path of self-destruction. All that is left to be decided is the speed at which we descend down that path.

The best thing for for conservatives to do is to abstain from voting for any deal that would raise taxes, which would allow the RINOs like McCain, Graham, and the other media darlings to either follow suit or cast their lot with Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and the other socialists who are calling the shots and allow Obama to get everything that he wants.

Conservatives must not put themselves in position to be blamed for taking the country over the fiscal cliff, but they also must not agree to compromise their core values to seal a deal with the devil. The goal should be to make sure that Obama gets all of the credit for the crash that is coming, because the crash is coming regardless of what Republicans do.

The fact that Democrats refused to vote on Obama's proposal in the U.S. Senate should have triggered an angry reaction from the White House, and it would have - if Obama had any desire to do anything to help the economy. Obama ran for president to create economic chaos and grab as much power as possible for himself and his cronies, and he has succeeded beyond the wildest dreams of his socialist sponsors.

It is a shame that Mitch McConnell is not more articulate, because unlike Boehner, he understands exactly what Obama's game plan is. Unfortunately, Boehner has had the numbers to thwart Obama's game plan but he continues to act as if Obama has this nation's best interests at heart - and nothing could be further from the truth. Republicans will be lucky to hold onto their majority in the House if they elect Boehner as Speaker again. I predict that there will be a well-financed Tea Party primary challenger for Boehner in 2014. I am not sure that I have ever seen a worse negotiator in politics.

Boehner acts like he believes this fight is managable by employing the methods used by republicans and democrats of the past. Dems were not actively trying to destroy their cohorts across the aisle in the past and we didn't have a socialist president bent on changing the entire socio-political landscape of America before his administration goes into the history books. And, although I agree with your post, I think that voter apathy is more than a lack of education. I truly believe the phenominum of Americans turning on their own country, which we are unfortunately seeing these days, is actually born of social revolution. The have nots have an opportunity to get even with the haves. And, the reason we see government officials the like of JoAnn Watson demanding that Obama bail out the city of Detroit.

Obama has succeeded in portraying all businessmen as ugly, glutonous, rich white, fat cats. Our own president is getting away with the worst form of bigotry, and white folks rising to defend him like he's some kind of savior. Most businessmen and women are in fact very gracious with their employees and do share the wealth in generous fashion. The mob of malcontents, professional zombie killers, lazy, and nonproductive slugs, which respresent the 'pets' of liberals in power, see an opportunity here to get even with folks who have money. Unwilling to work to get ahead, instead the government provided rationale for the lazy (unfortunate poor) is that they deserve what the rich fat cats have their vaults. Hence, the justification for "redistribution of wealth". This is nothing short of social revolution, guided by social justice advocates from within the hallowed halls.

The irony is that some of the ones that speak up most loudly in support of Obama's intentions to redistrbute the wealth of America, think their nest egg is safe from being touched. I don't think that is the case. Politicians have been eyeing pension funds and individual 401k's, as vast untapped renenue sources for some time now.

Nobody's money will be safe if the "fundamental transformation" progesses much farther in my opinion. By 2014 the issue should finally start to become clear for rabid change supporters of the working class. Bringing the poor up to their level means they will have to go way down. A fact that even superficial thinkers should have been able to figure out last election.
