I was going to put this piece in church101, however, the holy spirit put it on my heart to have it stand alone.

A great leader and visionary created the following in the last couple months. It's a message towards a group of believers and the role the church may take in their life. However, it's applicable to our homes, work, and schools.

Based on the concept of defeating giants...

1. Defeat the giant of isolation...create a culture of community, a place to belong.

2. Defeat the giant of pride...create a structure for discipleship, a place to learn and grow.

3. Defeat the giant of selfishness...create opportunities to serve, a place to discover and use our gifts.

4. Defeat the giant of poverty...create a spirit of generosity, a journey that uproots greed and supports kingdom growth.

5. Defeat the giant of exhaustion...create a setting where leadership is recognized, developed, and empowered.

6. Defeat the giant of silence...create a platform to speak to our community, embracing the local marketplace as our mission field.

7. Defeat the giant of depression...create a venue for celebration, where the presence and power of worship heals brokeness.

8. Defeat the giant of abondonment...create hope for families, a place for couples and kids to connect.

9. Defeat the giant of secularism...create connections with this generation, specifically on our local college campuses and present an uncompromising message of grace and truth.

10. Defeat the giant of religion...create events in our community that demonstrate genuine freedom and spiritual unity.

11. Defeat the giant of disrespect...create generational cooperation, a place where mutual honor and respect builds a bridge of trust and partnership.

12. Defeat the giant of destruction...create a safe place for healing, where the tormented, neglected, and abused can find genuine peace and purpose.

So whether a parent, friend, principal, pastor, business owner, leader I'm confident we can apply a few of the above "holy spirit" guided steps in our own lives.
