There's no doubt that this country is facing an economic crisis, which will only get worse.
The FED has done everything they can to prevent the economic collapse, interest rates are so low they are practically begging people to borrow free money. Yet the only thing happening is the wealthiest top percent of this country continue to reap all of the profits.
This is not about making everything equal. People are not equal when it comes to intelligence, hard work, creativeness. This is also not about people making money.
However, I do think there is a crisis coming right for us if we don't do something quickly.
This country has way to many creative, smart, hardworking individuals in a country with vast natural resources to see the type of economy and decrease in the standard of living that we are seeing. This comes from both sides, repub and dem, most of which are too concerned with passing legislation that allows them to line their own pockets, and allows those funding the lobbyists to reap all of the benefits. Jobs have declined, wages have declined or stagnated, education costs are skyrocketing, and we've seen the number of those on govt assistance swell. The debt is around 16 trillion, and taxes are already far beyond where they should be.
Is it so hard to have an economic policy that encourages job growth in the US, controls inflation, and allows for wage increases?
It is when the people with all of the power and money are buying off the politicians.
There should be no such thing as a career politician, it should be a job that someone does part time, in between their other actual job. I don't think anyone on this board can honestly say they believe most politicians have the people of this country as their #1 priority when it comes to setting policy.
Companies should not be able to ships jobs overseas and employ what amounts to modern day slave labor, and then ship those goods back to America. Also, we have to curb union power, while I believe unions are necessary, in some cases they have definitely over reached.
I also believe it is necessary for the govt to step in and break up the oligarchy's that exist in this country. The banks, oil companies, insurance companies and so on have gone from dozens or hundreds to basically a select few.
I've posted this image before, and it shows how ridiculous the current set up is. These 4 institutions hold all of the power, well the power that the world bankers who run the Federal Reserve allow them to have. The FED Reserve needs audited and overhauled, it can not continue to exist with the amount of power that it currently has.
