Phil Jackson answers the MJ-Kobe debate
#63
It can be debated all day, and some might not think Jordan was/is the greatest, but a large percentage of players, media and fans do, some more educated on the game that others, and it gets past stats. Such as in baseball, Pete Rose has more hits than any player in the game's history, but other than Charlie Hustle himself, I don't know anyone who would say that Rose is the great player, even the greatest hitter, in the history of baseball. More than stats play into it, that is for sure. Kareem was incredible, Wilt was dominating, Bird was a leader and Magic was a freak for a point guard but Michael was simply the best in my opinion many others who know the game much better than I agree.
