In a car, Corbin to Rosspoint is roughly an hour drive. If you know 119 pretty well, you can conceivably make it in 55 minutes. It usually takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Corbin to Cumberland and 15-20 minutes from the Baxter bridge in Harlan. That said, on a bus, you'd be looking at about an hour and 15 or 20 minute trip from Corbin-HCHS.

I would love to see Corbin/HC series started but ultimately I like everyone else want to see Corbin and Whitley County. The Corbin vs. South Laurel game brings nothing to the table. Sure there have been some good games in the past but Corbin and Whitley would be a completely different animal. You would have two teams that actually care about football playing on a Friday night. South Could stay on the schedule to fill a spot but more often than not, it really shouldn't be a must play game.

If it were up to me, Corbin's schedule would be as follows.

District:

Bell County
Wayne County
McCreary Central
Casey County

-Pigskin Classic (LCA, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Southwestern, Pikeville, Perry Central, etc)
-Whitley County (
-Middlesboro
-South Laurel/Knox Central//Harlan Co (rotating)
-GRC/Madison Southern/Garrard County type school that you should beat most years but can provide a challenge.
-Harlan/Wburg/Lynn Camp/Hazard-Single A school that would provide solid competition (mainly Wburg or Hazard) in some years but is generally a win.

This schedule in MOST YEARS would give you no worse than a 3-1 district record with a championship every 2 or 3 years and likely 4 or 5 wins in the non district. Some years Corbin could win 9 or 10 games depending on the talent coming through.

More importantly, you may enter the playoffs with 6-4 on some years but more often than not you'd be 7-3 or 8-2 once you get familiar with the opponents and get Corbin football back to where it should be. You will be much more battle tested compared to the different style offenses that you see.
