Stardust Wrote:I saw Newport Catholic firsthand this Friday night. They are not a very good team and have very few weapons. If Russell has any offense, I cannot imagine them not doing the same thing to Ashland's D that New Cath did. Based on those who know the program the best on this site, it certainly sounds like Ashland needs to get much better defensively to win big games. Is Russell really that bad? Could this be a better game than many expect?
Russell had two 8 minute drives in the first half against Greenup County both ending in field goals. They tried to just line up and go toe to toe with a much bigger Ironton front line. If you are going to play that style you better put it in the end zone.
Russell is down by their own standard but still capable. This is the year they bottom out because they are going to get better and better. I think they will move the ball. The question is can they stop The Tomkittens.
