Middlesboro winning the district is a done deal.
Union, Bell and Harlan all won Friday so the Jackets are sitting on 21 points for the tie-breaker. 21 is the highest possible total Danville can get to even with a win over Frankfort and all of their other opponents winning next week, which could very well happen.
If Middlesboro beats Lynn Camp next week, the Wildcats' 3 wins replace Harlan's 2 and Middlesboro has 22. Even if they lose to Lynn Camp and every one of their opponents lose next week, the Jackets can add Grant County's one win to break a 21-21 tie since Danville can't add anyone else.
If Danville wins next week they are second for sure. If they lose, the race for 2nd is going to be very close.
Somerset actually has 14 points (they can add LCA's one win to Glasgow's 8, Letcher's 4 and Southwestern's 1). The rule says you can use any team not involved in the tie-breaker, not any team outside your district.
Danville could also add LCA's win if they were to lose to Frankfort and they would have 12 points.
Danville gets one point each if Franklin-Simpson beats Hopkinsville, Green County beats Taylor County, Campbellsville beats LaRue County and LCA beats Walton-Verona so they're probably going to be at 15 or 16.
Somerset gets one point if LCA wins, Glasgow beats E'town and Letcher beats Breathitt. They're looking at somewhere between 15-17 points.
If they wind up tied in points, Danville gets the two seed because of their head-to-head win over Somerset.
