Guys, this rule is going to accomplish nothing. As it has been said in this thread many times before, parents who want to hold their child back to repeat a grade will just do it before the student reaches middle school. And there is nothing that the KBE or the KHSAA can do about it. If they push the requirement back to elementary school it will just happen in the primary grades before the child is even eligible to participate in sports.

Another thing I see happening, is the introduction of more sports leagues that are not affiliated with the school system at all. There will be options for students who are forced to sit out during the year they are repeating.
