Bath Countys response...

When deciding to play in 2A, we thought that there would be more schools
located in our geographical region. As it stands now, West Carter is the only
school located within 75 miles of our school. That means that on two
occasions, Bath County will be traveling to the Covington/Erlanger area and
spending over $1,000 in travel costs. With the proposed alignment, we
would be in favor of moving to 3A and playing in District 5 with other schools
that are closer in distance. These include Fleming, Lewis, Russell and
Pendleton. Even 3A, District 7 has four schools (Morgan, Estill, Breathitt and
Powell) that are closer to Bath County than the four schools proposed in the
present alignment. Four years ago, Bath County asked to be moved to 3A for
economic purposes. The proposed current alignment places us in the same
situation. Therefore, we humbly ask to be placed in 3A.
