July 4, 1776. That was the day our country's founders declared independence from Great Britain. Our founders decided it was worth the risk of war to win the freedom to govern themselves. We celebrate July 4 to reaffirm our commitment to freedom, liberty, freedom of choice.
Itâs time once again when we pause, step back and assess who we are, what we have and how we got it. Upon some reflection, the answer seems clear-- we are Americans. We have freedom. We have it because we fought and died for it.
