Behind back-to-back wins to begin the 2014 season, the Eastern Kentucky University football team has landed in the FCS Coaches Poll this week.

The Colonels, ranked 25th in today's poll, are 2-0 for the first time since the 2000 campaign. In the opener, Eastern outgained fellow FCS opponent Robert Morris by a significant margin of 624 to 250 yards. This past weekend, EKU tallied its first win over an FBS squad since 1985 thanks to a 17-10 triumph at Miami (Ohio). Junior wide receiver #Jeff Glover# provided the late-game heroics with a trick-play, 43-yard touchdown pass to fellow wide out #Deno Montgomery#.

This is the first time Eastern Kentucky has landed a spot in an FCS top-25 poll since Sept. 9, 2013.

Joining EKU in the FCS Coaches Poll are fellow OVC teams Jacksonville State (No. 8), Tennessee State (No. 22) and Eastern Illinois (No. 24).

The No. 25 Colonels open their home schedule this Saturday, Sept. 13 against former OVC rival Morehead State. Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
