In its 2015 Broadband Progress Report, the Federal Communications Commission redefined what constitutes a valid broadband Internet connection on Thursday in a 3-2 vote. The new standard dictates that a broadband connection must offer a 25 Mbps download speed[url=http://www.theverge.com/2015/1/29/7932653/fcc-changed-definition-broadband-25mbps][/url], up from 4 Mbps and a 3 Mbps upload speed, up from 1 Mbps.
