I'm not even 100% sure on the specific details anymore because it happened so long ago.

There were three players- Mike Mitchell, Mike Stowers, Nick Sheffield (spelling?)- and at least Sheffield was struggling with grades at CCH and wanted out.

Sheffield transferred to Highlands. Mike Stowers wanted out, so he punched a kid and got kicked out on purpose (and then everyone jumped in with "oh, they were forced out because they were black! Then why wasn't every other black kid there forced out, geniuses?), and then Mitchell eventually followed suit (don't know if he stayed the entire year or not).

They all went to Highlands, and Sheffield and Stowers apparently "moved in with relatives in Fort Thomas" or something. Mitchell enrolled there but had to get an injunction to play football because he was out-of-district.

All three transferred there to play football, and then the state made them forfeit all the games Mitchell played in (except for the state title, which I forget if he even played), because they couldn't even attempt to pass it off as anything non-football related.

Like I posted in a forum a while back, a guy who I see pretty regularly went to Highlands, but lived in Bellevue, and rattled off six or seven names of kids that he graduated with that were from nowhere near Fort Thomas (pretty sure that Nevels was one, which I know he's not because I played pee-wee against a Nevels from the Simon Kenton area *assuming they're related).

And why were they at CovCath to start with? Were all 5 not from Boone County and the Boone County Pee Wee League? Keep reaching. I guess is does get pretty old getting your a$$ handed to you every year on the football field. I am almost certain it is because they get kids from all over Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Nice thread there Bo. Your grudge with the football Birds is simply too much to deal with.
