I played football across the creek from Johnson Central in the late 70's and early 80's. I have many friends and relatives on both sides. My wife was a flag majorette for Johnson Central when I was a junior at Paintsville. We had an on and off dating relationship in high school. During The Apple Bowl of 1981 we were off. I snuck away from the team during half time and came up the bank just to see her for just a moment because we hadn't talked in a week. During the her marching bands performance she spotted me and found a way to flip me the bird without missing a beat with the band. I've been in love with her ever since. We just got married this Halloween weekend.
