Self delusion is the liberal's favorite tool, and the reason they seem shameless when they lie. The reason? Because as the term self delusion implies, they are equal opportunity deceivers in that they are as fond of lying to themselves as they are to others. I got a shiver last night when I heard our President say, "Let me tell you something, the United States of America is the most powerful nation on earth. Period."

It scares me when he uses the word period, remember this one?--- "If you like your private health insurance plan, you can keep your plan. Period."
After he made that now infamously untrue statement, I was forced out of my plan, period.

One is not powerful if deterrents he possesses are mere props. The argument is not whether the US has yet finished the task of completely decimating our own Armed Services through cuts and unsupported conclusions about the moral evolvement of mankind. The argument is whether we have the will to use our Armed Services, and that is what the Republicans have been saying. I saw and heard the events of October 1962, and IMHO, this President would never had the courage or the military savvy to do what John F Kennedy did. If Obama had been President then, Russia would likely have a vast naval station in Cuba as we speak.

To support that conclusion I would call attention to the way Iran treated 10 US sailors and though they have been released, the best I can determine the property of "the people" of the United States in the form of 2 patrol boats, remain in the hands of Iran. I mean, all of this happened in the shadow of a US Naval Carrier group. In back alley parlance, we got our head handed to us. Trump is exactly right when he says we don't win anymore. US heads of state are all issued turbo packs to crawfish more effectively.

Getting back to this Nikki Haley thing. It's obvious that the Republican establishment handed her the text of her speech. She's another rising star ala the vision of the Bush wing of the party and I'm done with her.
