When Scripture says that to the Lord, "a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day" that is a statement about time having no meaning to an eternal being. "In one hour" in Scripture also can mean a very small amount of temporal time. Isn't what you just did a bit of gnat straining?

While I would agree that the Holy Bible tends to lend itself to interpretation, the admonition against murdering is absolute. Too many people get a preconceived belief and then go to the Scriptures, not to ascertain the meaning presented, but to back up their own preconceived notion. That is not open to personal prejudice when addressing the protection of all human life.
