You are right in saying that slaves are bought and sold, when you buy a slave you get a body bound in service. "Image of man?" Men take the image of their father. The saved are conformed to the image of Christ. The lost are of their father the devil.

This point in Scripture is near the end of man's trek though history. The culmination of self gratification. A midstream tap if you will of the 7 year Tribulation period already in progress.
