I agree with everything your saying. It would take someone with a low football IQ to say that Belfry's O-Line didn't/won't feel the lose of the line that we just had depart. Hard to replace the size and athletic ability of that line, period! But I will say this, the line that Belfry will be presenting this year is still going to be very good. This Pirate line looks to me like it will still be, on average, around 6'2"-6'3"/ 260-270 lbs. That folks is still a pretty impressive O-Line as far as size. And the athletic ability is there also. What I seen from spring practice, and this is just me giving my opinion, I look for Wolford to start at Center, Rash and Arbogast to play at Guards, and Lawson will play one of the Tackle positions. Not sure who will get the nod at the other Tackle spot. And I agree, its going to take a few games for this group to start jelling together and getting use to playing with one another but when they do, I believe, it will be one of the best lines in 3A. As far as the skill positions and defense, I'm pretty sure we're going to be just fine. Can't wait until August 25th!

I think there will be some early lag also. But one thing that I think is often overlooked is that Belfry had many games that starters got to freely substitute, maybe wholes halves of games. Someone had to play those positions. The underclassmen got a lot of varsity game experience. And honestly, it showed sometimes. But upcoming seniors have effectively practiced 4 1/2 seasons already (45 games). Juniors 3 seasons. Upcoming sophomores 1 1/2 seasons.

Who cares what team is preseason #1. Or for that matter #1 at the end of the regular season. If they can maintain their approach of getting a little better each day, good things can happen.
