If you think having 200 boys living within 5 miles of school is the same as having 200 boys living within 30 miles of school is the same thing, then you have a problem and just don't want to admit it.

If someone in the family isn't committed to drive there son to and from practice thats there choice not to have that type of commitment. Its not the fault of there independent opponent. I grew up in a family that was far from well off, father was deceased, and I lived in the county a distance from school. I played sports growing up in elementary school, and if mom couldn't drive me to a game or practice, then grandma, uncle or somebody would. Its not to uncommon for a teamates family to give another kid a ride. My mother carries a lot of my sisters special Olympic teammates to practice, and to games. Stop blaming other schools for your lack of commitment. Mediocre programs have people that lack the committment, then the same folks think it's unfair when a program that has a community committed to football beats the daylights out of them. The people in your community can either take the time out to take there kids to practice, or they can not let them play because they feel its a burden. If its such a burden they shouldn't be parents anyway. You can either sacrifice for your kids, or not let them play, but don't blame others for your lack of commitment. I drive 2 hours a day multiple days of the week going back, and forth just to see my daughter for a few hours before working the evening shift. Sometimes I don't know if I will make it to the next paycheck, but I'm committed to do it. I've had to sell many things I swore I'd never sell just to pay the bills when my check wasn't enough. Then I hear this crap that we ain't as good as someone else because its a burden to drive little Johnny to practice. I wish my biggest worry in life was taking a kid to practice, and getting to enjoy them doing something they love. Lets blame it on kids in an independent having a close walk to school, because I don't want to carry my kid to practice.
