Very well said and I cannot agree with you more. I have used these same type statements to people who think Dale Mueller was a "great" football coach. Dale was a very good motivator and got the kids in the program to buy into his philosophy and lets be honest, he had a wealth of talent. Sure he adjusted his approach each year based upon the players that he had, but I can honestly say if in a tight game and it came down to X's and O's he was like any other coach.

The current coach and staff have continually refused to put their team in a position to win. Last year as South Oldham was driving for the winning score, Senior Michael Dunn and Junior Trent Johnson are standing on the sidelines watching their season end because coaches REFUSED to make a change in an attempt to win a game. Beau Hoge hid a lot of things when he was the QB because of his high football IQ. The last 3 years the coaching staff has been exposed a bit as they have not been able to coach them up as you say.

My friend.......bells are ringing.....a ray of light is shining through.....and an epiphany has just happened. I am not sure what camp you are in, but I would assume you are a friendly. I have been saying this for years and was just "laughed at" by people that don't know a football from a baseball bat. The Ft. Thomas "greater than now" have always acted like he is the second coming.
Maybe I am wrong. Maybe understanding the game and being able to make adjustments at half time, make play calls based on the situation is NOT the right answer.
He was obviously very successful and a super human being, but MY LORD! I have watched many of games with my chin on the ground at some of the play call, personnel, decisions being made and lack of adjustments during the game. The Highlands Way philosophy was great when the talent level was there, but even when there is talent a good coach will pickup on things and motivate their team to compete and win.
I stated years ago that if a team were to play Highlands, put their DB's 20 yards off the ball, contain the QB on the edges and they would beat Highlands because his philosophy was "run receivers in and out, throw the ball deep, wear them out and eventually they would win by being in better shape".
Collins did exactly that in Dale's last game. Probably one of the most talented teams during his run, but Collin's coaches realized what Highlands weakness was and game planned around it.
Not bashing, just stating my opinion.
BTW, THANK YOU! Finally someone who see's it for what it is and calls a spade a spade.
