Looked at the final stats, and it ended up West Carter 328 yards to SV's 290. So while a 26 point loss looks bad, and West was definitely the better team, it sounds like the game wasn't nearly as lopsided as the final score makes it seem.

I was not there, so I am only going on what I was told, but apparently Valley drove into the red zone twice in the 3rd quarter only to turn it over on downs both times. If they are able to finish those two drives off with TD's, then maybe the game plays out differently. So major credit goes to West Carter's defense for stiffening up when it mattered.

Also, with the score 13-7 in the 3rd and the game still within reach, Valley decided to put the ball in the air and it ended up a disaster. The Comets returned an INT all the way for a score, and that pretty much decided the game.

Congrats to the Comets, it sounds like they are in the driver's seat for the #1 seed in district. Valley has a lot of work to do before they go back on the road to Martin County in a couple weeks. If they don't learn how to finish off drives with scores, they may not even get to host a playoff game.
